Racquet Stringing

Good for the game!

Good for the arm!

Racquet stringing is an integral part in your tennis game as well as tennis health.

For some of you, you break your strings, and you know it is time to restring your racquet. For others, you don’t break strings and you are stuck thinking about when you should restring your racquet. A simple guide is this; for how many times you play in a week, that is how often you should string your racquet. This can vary depending on your level of tennis. The more skilled players will restring their racquets more often.

Having new strings in your racquet gives you several benefits; Tennis game: it gives you the best control and/or power that you want, Tennis health: it is better on your arm, wrist & shoulder to have new strings in when you can. Strings do “die”.

Re-gripping

It is essential to have a good grip on your racquet, whether it is the standard grip on an over grip. Holding the racquet too tight is not good for your tennis game or tennis health. Too tight of a grip will decrease your shot making ability. Too tight of a grip can lead to arm problems. Having a good grip will let your hand grip the racquet more easily.

Grommet replacement

Having grommets in good shape is very important. The grommets help the strings move in a fashion that the racquet was designed to. More importantly is the bumper guard on the outside of the racquet head. If your bumper guard is wearing down, this can lead to your strings braking more easily.
